“There’s something satisfying about rolling out clay; a lump of earth becomes a layer of possibility, yielding to the whim of the hand. It’s pretty neat how the mud beneath our own feet can be art and inspiration waiting to happen.”
Featuring a custom line of Illustrated Pottery made by hand building and/or rolling out clay into organic shapes and sculptures; the ancient “Sgraffito” (to scratch) technique is then achieved by applying underglaze and carving into them to create designs and illustrations.
With a special interest in indigenous materials and the art of sustainability, processing and transforming local clay from surrounding regions is a focus of the studio and classrooms.
